1. Scope and Platform Nature
These Terms apply to international participants and overseas-side users of Homestay.pro. Homestay.pro is a screened cultural homestay and family-based cultural exchange matching platform. It is not a dating, marriage, friendship, employment, education, travel, immigration, hotel, medical, legal, guardianship, or emergency-response service.
The platform reviews applications, creates authorized limited profiles, screens host-family applications, coordinates matching, confirms formal matches, and may provide complimentary post-match assistance and rules-based oversight. It does not guarantee any match, travel approval, visa, border entry, arrival, homestay, stay duration, personal relationship, or offline conduct.
2. Eligibility and Accurate Information
You must be at least 18 years old, have legal capacity, and provide truthful, current, complete, and lawful information. False identity, misleading photographs, omitted safety information, or unauthorized materials may result in rejection, suspension, match cancellation, or account termination.
You must promptly update material changes to your identity, health and safety information, availability, travel readiness, contact details, or other information relevant to matching.
3. Public Matching Profile
The platform may create a limited matching profile only under your separate Public Profile Authorization. It must not ordinarily include passport numbers, detailed health information, emergency contacts, direct contact details, or other non-public information.
4. Matching Process
A typical process may include application submission, platform review, public-profile authorization, display to screened families, host-family interest, participant review, platform coordination, final confirmation, and a separately authorized manual contact handoff by platform staff.
Selecting a family begins final confirmation; it is not itself a guarantee of travel or stay. Homestay.pro will notify you when a formal match has been confirmed. Overseas participants receive only matching-status information relevant to their own participation.
A formal match exists only after the platform issues its formal confirmation and authorized staff complete any separately authorized manual contact handoff. When formal confirmation and that contact handoff are complete, the platform's core matching service is complete. The participant and host family then independently decide and arrange travel, arrival, hosting, schedules, and daily activities.
5. Manual Contact Release
Direct contact information is not automatically displayed through the platform. After formal matching conditions are satisfied, authorized Homestay.pro staff may manually release the minimum necessary contact information to the specifically matched host family only under your separate authorization. The platform should record the recipient, scope, authorization, time, and staff action.
6. Conduct and Cultural Exchange Boundaries
You must use the platform only for lawful cultural homestay and exchange purposes. Dating, marriage matching, harassment, fraud, illegal work, commercial solicitation, discrimination, sexual conduct, coercion, privacy misuse, and unrelated recruitment are prohibited.
Participation does not create an employment, labor, domestic-work, teaching, caregiving, agency, guardianship, or accommodation-provider relationship with a host family or the platform. Cultural activities must remain voluntary.
Host families are expected to provide an environment consistent with the information reviewed for matching, but actual culture, food, language, schedules, housing, and lifestyle may differ from expectations. Participants and host families remain responsible for their own decisions, conduct, and private arrangements after formal matching.
7. Travel and Personal Responsibility
You are responsible for determining your legal ability and personal readiness to travel and stay in China, arranging required travel documents and protection, and complying with applicable immigration, health, safety, and local requirements. The platform does not control public authorities, carriers, insurers, medical providers, host families, or other third parties.
8. Complimentary Follow-up and Limited Oversight
After a formal match, Homestay.pro may provide complimentary information, periodic check-ins, communication assistance, safety-report intake, and rules-based oversight. These arrangements do not create a continuing stay-management obligation and do not promise a fixed frequency, response time, resolution, or outcome. They do not make Homestay.pro an accommodation provider, guardian, travel operator, emergency service, guarantor, or agent of either party.
Receiving a report, preserving evidence, or enforcing platform rules does not mean the platform assumes control of the parties' private hosting relationship. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Platform Controls
Homestay.pro may review, reject, suspend, restrict, remove, or terminate accounts, applications, profiles, communications, or matches where it reasonably identifies inaccuracy, fraud, harassment, privacy misuse, safety concerns, rule violations, or unlawful conduct.
If a host family ends or cannot proceed with a formal match, Homestay.pro may return the participant to matching availability where appropriate. This does not guarantee a replacement family, a particular timetable, travel, arrival, or stay.
10. Privacy and Intellectual Property
Personal information is processed under the Privacy Policy and applicable authorizations. The current Community Guidelines form part of these Terms. By accepting these Terms, you agree to follow those Guidelines, including their safety, privacy, communication, and cultural-exchange rules.
Platform names, logos, workflows, software, and service materials belong to the platform or their licensors. Users retain rights in their content subject to the authorizations necessary for review, matching, safety, support, and dispute handling.
11. Responsibility and Liability Boundaries
Cross-cultural homestay involves uncertainty, including cultural differences, communication barriers, lifestyle mismatch, travel changes, illness, public-authority decisions, and offline risks. Homestay.pro is responsible for its own obligations and fault, but is not responsible for every action or omission of participants, host families, authorities, carriers, insurers, medical providers, or other third parties. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Governing Law and Changes
Material changes may be notified through a website notice, pop-up, email, or other reasonable method and may require renewed acceptance. Unless mandatory law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, with disputes first addressed through consultation and then by a competent court at the operator's location.
13. Legal Review Notice
This document should be reviewed by qualified counsel before official publication.
