Homestay.pro Participation Agreement

1. Purpose

This Participation Agreement applies to international participants who apply to join the Homestay.pro cultural homestay program in China.

The purpose of the program is to support cultural exchange, language practice, and everyday family-life experience between international participants and screened Chinese host families.

Homestay.pro does not accept minors as independent users or international participants. Applicants must have legal capacity to participate and enter into this Agreement.

2. Voluntary Participation

You confirm that your participation is voluntary. You understand that Homestay.pro does not guarantee placement, travel approval, visa approval, specific host-family conditions, or any particular cultural experience.

You may decline a proposed match before confirmation. After a match is confirmed, cancellation or changes should follow platform procedures and any applicable service rules.

3. Accurate Information

You agree to provide truthful, accurate, current, and complete application information. You must promptly update the platform if your health, travel plans, contact information, availability, emergency contact, or other important information changes.

False or misleading information may result in application rejection, match cancellation, account restriction, or other measures.

4. Cultural Homestay Nature

The program is not employment, labor service, domestic work, formal teaching, tourism package, dating, marriage matching, immigration, or medical care.

You are not required to provide labor, teaching, childcare, housekeeping, commercial promotion, live streaming, or other services beyond voluntary cultural exchange activities.

5. Conduct During Matching and Stay

You agree to:

• respect Chinese laws, local customs, family privacy, and household rules;
• communicate honestly and respectfully with the platform and host family;
• maintain appropriate personal boundaries;
• avoid harassment, discrimination, fraud, illegal conduct, and unsafe behavior;
• follow reasonable safety instructions;
• notify the platform promptly of conflicts, illness, accidents, emergencies, or changes.

6. Host Family Expectations

Host families are expected to provide a safe and respectful home environment consistent with the information reviewed by the platform. However, family culture, food, language, schedules, housing conditions, and lifestyle may differ from your own expectations.

For approved participants, host families usually provide accommodation and basic family meals. Personal expenses, flights, visa, insurance, travel, shopping, and optional services are self-paid.

You should raise concerns respectfully and contact the platform when coordination is needed.

7. Health and Safety

You are responsible for assessing your own health, travel readiness, insurance needs, medical needs, and legal ability to travel or stay in China. You should disclose relevant health or safety information that may affect matching or daily living.

The platform may request supporting documents, such as health-related materials or no-criminal-record materials, where appropriate for safety and screening.

8. Travel, Visa, and Insurance

Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, you are responsible for your own passport, visa, travel arrangements, insurance, medical costs, transportation, personal spending, and compliance with immigration and local requirements.

The platform does not guarantee visa issuance, border entry, travel availability, or third-party service performance.

9. Photos, Content, and Publicity

You should not publish host family photos, children’s images, home address, private conversations, or private family information without explicit consent. Host families are also expected not to publish your photos or private information without consent.

Any platform publicity or public profile display must follow the applicable authorization documents.

10. Contact Release

Your direct contact information will not be released to host families merely because they paid for platform services. Contact release requires separate authorization after matching conditions are satisfied, unless legally required or necessary for emergency handling.

11. Cancellation and Removal

The platform may reject, suspend, cancel, or remove a participant from the program where information is false, safety risks arise, rules are violated, required documents are not provided, or participation becomes inappropriate or unlawful.

12. Liability and Risk

You understand that cross-cultural homestay involves inherent uncertainties, including cultural differences, communication barriers, lifestyle mismatch, travel changes, illness, policy changes, and offline risks.

The platform will use reasonable efforts to support review and coordination, but it is not responsible for all actions or omissions of users, host families, public authorities, carriers, insurers, medical providers, or other third parties.

13. Agreement with Other Rules

This Participation Agreement should be read together with the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Public Profile Authorization, Contact Information Release Authorization, and Community Guidelines.
