1. Scope
These Terms of Use apply to international participants and other overseas-side users who register, browse, submit information, or use Homestay.pro services.
Homestay.pro is a screened cultural homestay and family-based cultural exchange matching platform. The platform connects Chinese host families with international participants who voluntarily wish to experience everyday family life in China.
2. Platform Nature
Homestay.pro is not a dating platform, friendship app, marriage agency, international matchmaking agency, labor agency, employment agency, school, travel agency, immigration agency, hotel booking service, or medical or legal service provider.
The platform provides application review, public matching profile display, host-family screening, matching coordination, communication support, and service management. The platform does not sell personal information and does not guarantee that any match, placement, homestay, travel, visa, or stay in China will occur.
3. Eligibility
You must have legal capacity to use the platform. Homestay.pro does not accept minors as independent users or international participants. If you are under the age of majority under applicable law, you may not submit an overseas participant application through the platform.
You must provide truthful, accurate, complete, and lawful information. You must not submit false identity information, misleading photographs, inaccurate health or safety information, or information that you are not authorized to provide.
4. Account Security
You are responsible for keeping your account, password, verification codes, and devices secure. Activities conducted through your account may be treated as activities authorized by you.
If you suspect unauthorized access, data leakage, or account misuse, you should contact the platform promptly.
5. Application Information
Your application may include identity information, contact information, nationality, age or date of birth, passport-related information, education, occupation, health and safety declarations, lifestyle preferences, cultural interests, emergency contact information, photographs, travel preferences, and other information necessary for screening and matching.
Some information may be sensitive. The platform will use such information only for application review, safety assessment, matching, service management, dispute handling, or other lawful and necessary purposes.
6. Public Matching Profile
The platform may generate a limited public matching profile based on your application. This public profile may be shown only if you provide separate authorization through the Public Profile Authorization.
The public profile is designed for screened Chinese host families to evaluate cultural homestay compatibility. It should not include your passport number, detailed health information, emergency contact information, private contact details, or other non-public information unless separately authorized.
7. Contact Information Release
Your phone number, email address, social media account, or other direct contact information will not be released to Chinese host families merely because they paid for platform services.
Direct contact information may be released only after matching conditions are satisfied and you provide separate authorization through the Contact Information Release Authorization, unless disclosure is otherwise required by law or necessary for emergency handling.
8. Matching Process
A typical process may include:
Application submission → platform review → public profile authorization → public profile display to screened host families → host family matching request → participant review and confirmation → platform coordination → possible contact release after separate authorization.
The platform may adjust the process for safety, privacy, compliance, service quality, or operational reasons.
9. User Conduct
You must use the platform for cultural homestay and cultural exchange purposes only. You must not use the platform for dating, marriage matching, harassment, fraud, illegal employment, commercial solicitation, discriminatory conduct, sexual content, gambling, political extremism, or any purpose inconsistent with the platform’s positioning.
You must respect the privacy, culture, family rules, safety boundaries, and lawful rights of Chinese host families.
10. No Employment or Labor Relationship
Participation in a cultural homestay does not create an employment, labor, domestic-work, teaching, caregiving, or agency relationship with any host family or the platform. You should not be required to provide labor, teaching, childcare, commercial promotion, live streaming, or other services beyond voluntary cultural exchange activities.
11. Fees and Third-Party Costs
Depending on the service structure, the platform may charge certain users for screening, matching, coordination, or service management. Any fees applicable to you will be disclosed before payment.
For approved participants, host families usually provide accommodation and basic family meals. Personal expenses, flights, visa, insurance, travel, shopping, and optional services are self-paid.
You may be responsible for your own travel, passport, visa, insurance, medical, transportation, personal consumption, and other third-party costs unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing.
As of this version, the specific fee items, amounts, service validity periods, and refund percentages remain to be completed and publicly confirmed by the platform before formal charging begins.
12. Platform Rights
The platform may review, approve, reject, suspend, restrict, remove, or terminate accounts, applications, profiles, communications, or matches where it reasonably believes there is a risk of inaccuracy, fraud, harassment, privacy violation, safety concern, non-compliance, or misuse of the platform.
13. Intellectual Property
Platform names, logos, pages, workflows, software, content structure, and service materials are owned by the platform or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit platform materials without authorization.
You retain rights to content you submit, subject to the licenses and authorizations you grant to the platform for review, matching, display, service management, and dispute handling.
14. Disclaimers
The platform uses reasonable efforts to support safe and appropriate matching, but it does not guarantee any specific host family, homestay, travel result, visa outcome, cultural experience, personal relationship, or offline conduct by users.
Users are responsible for their own decisions, travel arrangements, legal compliance, insurance, health, and safety planning.
15. Changes
The platform may update these Terms for legal, operational, safety, or service reasons. Material changes may be notified through website notice, pop-up, email, or other reasonable methods.
16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
Unless otherwise required by mandatory applicable law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Disputes related to the platform should first be resolved through friendly consultation. If consultation fails, the dispute may be submitted to the competent court at the platform operator's location, namely Heping District, Shenyang, People's Republic of China, unless otherwise required by mandatory applicable law.
17. Legal Review Notice
This document is a platform policy draft and should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before official publication.
