1. Purpose of This Authorization

This Public Profile Authorization explains how Homestay.pro may create, review, and display an approved public matching profile for an overseas participant who applies to join the Homestay.pro cultural homestay program.

Homestay.pro is a screened cultural homestay and family-based cultural exchange matching platform connecting eligible international participants with verified Chinese host families. Homestay.pro is a cultural homestay matching platform, a family-based cultural exchange service platform, an application review and two-way matching platform, and a platform-assisted communication and service coordination platform.

Homestay.pro is not a dating platform, marriage agency, friendship-selling platform, employment agency, recruitment agency, au pair placement agency, study-abroad agency, immigration agency, travel agency, hotel or short-term rental operator, or a platform selling international participants’ personal information.

This authorization allows Homestay.pro, only for cultural homestay matching purposes, to generate and display an approved public matching profile based on selected low-risk information from the participant’s reviewed application materials.

The public matching profile may be shown only to registered, verified, approved, or otherwise authorized Chinese host families and authorized Homestay.pro staff where appropriate. The purposes are limited to cultural homestay matching, family-based cultural exchange, initial compatibility review, matching invitations, platform-assisted communication, safety coordination, and service coordination.

Chinese host families view the participant’s authorized public matching profile. They do not purchase the participant’s full application, private contact information, identity documents, or personal information.

This authorization does not permit Homestay.pro to sell the participant’s personal information.

2. Voluntary and Separate Authorization

This authorization must be given through a separate checkbox in the overseas participant application flow. The checkbox must not be selected by default.

This authorization is separate from the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. The participant should have a reasonable opportunity to open and read this full authorization before deciding whether to select the Public Profile Authorization checkbox.

By selecting the checkbox, the participant makes an active, clear, and voluntary choice. Continuing to browse the website, viewing this page, or submitting other parts of the application does not by itself create this authorization.

Homestay.pro may record the consent status, consent timestamp, legal version, account ID, application ID, IP address, user-agent, and other technical records reasonably necessary for traceability, security, compliance, and dispute handling.

3. Information That May Be Displayed

After authorization and platform review, Homestay.pro may select appropriate low-risk information from the approved application materials to create a public matching profile. This may include:

  • first name, preferred name, or platform nickname;
  • country or region;
  • age range, not full date of birth;
  • gender, only when voluntarily provided and approved for display;
  • spoken languages;
  • general language proficiency;
  • education level or general field of study;
  • interests and hobbies;
  • general cultural interests;
  • preferred arrival period;
  • preferred homestay duration;
  • general dietary preferences;
  • general pet preferences;
  • general smoking preferences;
  • general accommodation or family preferences;
  • short self-introduction;
  • reasons for joining the cultural homestay program;
  • platform verification or review status;
  • one or more participant-approved profile photographs;
  • any other field separately marked as public by the participant.

Homestay.pro may review, moderate, translate, shorten, format, mask, or remove sensitive details from the public matching profile for safety, privacy, readability, layout, translation, and matching purposes. Homestay.pro should not knowingly distort the participant’s intended meaning.

4. Information That Must Not Be Publicly Displayed

Homestay.pro must not display the following information in the ordinary public matching profile:

  • passport number;
  • passport scan;
  • national ID number;
  • full date of birth;
  • precise home address;
  • current precise location;
  • private telephone number;
  • personal email address;
  • WhatsApp, WeChat, Instagram, or other direct contact details;
  • private social-media username;
  • emergency contact information;
  • bank or payment information;
  • visa documentation;
  • travel document numbers;
  • criminal record documents;
  • detailed medical records;
  • disability details;
  • detailed mental-health information;
  • detailed religious belief information;
  • sexual orientation or intimate-life information;
  • biometric identifiers;
  • signatures;
  • background-check reports;
  • family members’ private information;
  • any information not reasonably necessary for initial cultural homestay matching.

Such information may be processed or provided in a restricted manner only where permitted by law, necessary for the matching or safety process, consistent with the Privacy Policy, and separately authorized by the participant where separate authorization is required.

5. Profile Photographs

Only photographs uploaded by the participant and approved or allowed for public matching use may be displayed in the public matching profile.

Passport photographs, identity document scans, identity verification photos, background-check files, and other documents uploaded for verification must not be used as public matching photos.

Homestay.pro may crop, compress, resize, watermark, or perform basic display optimization on approved profile photographs. Homestay.pro must not perform misleading edits that materially change the participant’s identity, body, age, or real appearance.

Homestay.pro must not sell participant photographs to advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties. Homestay.pro must not use participant photographs for facial-recognition training or unrelated AI training unless it obtains separate explicit authorization.

The participant may request that a displayed photograph be removed, paused, replaced, or corrected.

6. Who May View the Profile

The public matching profile is not intended to be made available to the entire internet without access control.

Depending on platform rules and service design, the profile may be viewable by:

  • registered Chinese host families;
  • verified or approved Chinese host families;
  • Homestay.pro authorized staff;
  • service providers strictly necessary for hosting, safety, translation, review, or technical operation;
  • regulators or law-enforcement authorities where legally required.

Homestay.pro may restrict access based on review status, payment permissions, region, safety rules, account status, and other platform controls.

Chinese host families and other authorized viewers must not copy, scrape, bulk download, publicly repost, sell, publish, or use the profile for purposes unrelated to cultural homestay matching.

Homestay.pro may record viewing, saving, matching request, invitation, and access logs for security, audit, service quality, and dispute handling.

7. Prohibited Uses

Public matching profiles must not be used for:

  • dating;
  • marriage matchmaking;
  • romantic solicitation;
  • sexual solicitation;
  • harassment;
  • employment recruitment;
  • commercial promotion;
  • advertising;
  • resale;
  • data brokerage;
  • identity theft;
  • fraud;
  • stalking;
  • discrimination;
  • political campaigning;
  • religious recruitment;
  • unauthorized media publication;
  • social-media reposting;
  • facial-recognition databases;
  • AI training unrelated to the service;
  • any purpose unrelated to cultural homestay matching.

Homestay.pro may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts that misuse public matching profiles.

8. Matching Requests and Contact Information

This Public Profile Authorization is separate from any Contact Information Release Authorization.

This authorization allows Homestay.pro to display an approved public matching profile. It does not authorize the direct disclosure of private contact information, including email, telephone number, WhatsApp, WeChat, Instagram, precise travel itinerary, or precise location.

Consent to display a public profile is not consent to disclose private contact information.

Private contact information should be released only after a separate process, such as:

  • a Chinese host family submits a matching interest or invitation;
  • the overseas participant agrees to the specific matching process;
  • Homestay.pro completes necessary review and safety checks;
  • the overseas participant separately authorizes the release of contact information where required.

9. Automated Recommendations and Translation

Homestay.pro may use automated or manual matching tools to recommend potential matches based on timing, language, interests, family conditions, lifestyle preferences, safety rules, and service availability.

Automated or manual recommendations do not guarantee matching success, acceptance by a host family, successful travel, visa approval, or completion of a homestay.

Homestay.pro may use machine translation or human translation to make public matching profiles easier to understand across languages. Translations may contain minor differences. Important information should be confirmed again by the parties through platform-assisted communication.

Homestay.pro should not use sensitive personal information to make unreasonable discriminatory recommendations.

10. Duration of Authorization

This authorization begins when the participant actively selects the Public Profile Authorization checkbox and submits the application or relevant authorization form.

The authorization continues until one of the following occurs:

  • the participant withdraws the authorization;
  • the account is closed;
  • the application is deleted;
  • the relevant profile becomes invalid or expires;
  • Homestay.pro ends the relevant service;
  • applicable law requires Homestay.pro to stop processing or displaying the profile.

Homestay.pro may pause display of a public matching profile after long inactivity, an expired application, safety concerns, account problems, or service changes.

11. Withdrawal of Authorization

The participant may withdraw this authorization at any time through a reasonable and accessible method, such as account settings, the application page, or the privacy contact channel.

After withdrawal, Homestay.pro should stop future display of the public matching profile within a reasonable period, subject to technical and legal limits.

Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred lawfully before withdrawal. Homestay.pro may retain necessary records for audit, security, dispute resolution, legal obligations, and evidence preservation.

Search caches, browser caches, screenshots, or copies previously and lawfully accessed by authorized viewers may not disappear immediately or completely. Homestay.pro should take reasonable steps to stop continued display through systems it controls.

Withdrawing authorization should not be more difficult than granting authorization.

12. Editing and Correction

The participant may request to view, correct, update, replace, hide, or pause parts of the public matching profile, including public photos and translated text.

The participant may report inaccurate translations, outdated information, or fields that should not be publicly shown.

Homestay.pro may refuse to publish or may remove content that includes false information, another person’s private information, illegal content, private contact details, advertising, sexual content, hate content, fraud, unsafe content, or content unrelated to cultural homestay matching.

13. Security and Access Controls

Homestay.pro uses reasonable measures to protect public matching profiles and related records, which may include access control, account authentication, role-based permissions, logs, secure transmission, limited staff access, moderation, data minimization, and incident response.

No online platform can promise absolute security. Homestay.pro does not state that any system is 100 percent secure or that incidents can never occur.

14. Cross-Border Processing

Because Homestay.pro connects overseas participants with Chinese host families, participant information may be processed outside the participant’s country or region.

To provide cultural homestay matching, approved public matching profiles may be accessed by authorized staff, service providers, and Chinese host families in China or other relevant locations.

Homestay.pro will process information according to applicable law, the Privacy Policy, this authorization, and reasonable protective measures. Detailed cross-border processing rules are described in the Privacy Policy.

This authorization does not replace the cross-border processing notice and consent requirements in the Privacy Policy.

15. No Guarantee of Matching

Displaying a public matching profile does not guarantee that the participant will receive a matching invitation, be selected by a host family, complete a homestay, obtain a visa, obtain travel permission, receive education services, obtain employment, or receive immigration benefits.

Homestay.pro does not promise that every host family will match the participant’s personal preferences.

This authorization is not an employment promise, education promise, immigration promise, travel package promise, hotel booking promise, romantic relationship promise, or marriage matchmaking promise.

16. Reporting Misuse

If the participant believes that a public matching profile has been screenshotted, reposted, misused for dating, used for recruitment, published on social media, impersonated, illegally sold, or used for harassment, the participant may report the issue to Homestay.pro.

Homestay.pro may take reasonable actions, including suspending accounts, restricting access, removing profile content, preserving evidence, terminating service, notifying affected users, or reporting to relevant authorities where legally required.

17. Changes to This Authorization

Homestay.pro may update this authorization from time to time.

For material changes, Homestay.pro should provide reasonable notice. If Homestay.pro expands the types of public fields, viewing audiences, or purposes in a material way, it should obtain renewed consent where required.

Homestay.pro should not rely only on silent updates to expand an earlier authorization to materially new purposes.

Homestay.pro may record the version accepted by each participant for traceability.
